Does an Exemption Clause in the 13th Amendment Still Permit Slavery? (25% of all the world's prisoners are in America)

Answer:
1. Why is June 19th just as important (maybe more) as the Emancipation Proclamation? Should Juneteenth be a National Holiday? Explain.
2. Do you believe the provisions in the 13th Amendment freed African-Americans, or created a modern-day prison slave system (or both)? Explain.
3.  Name an event that is personally important to you that you would like to see become a national holiday.
4. Respond to two of your fellow students' Blog entries.
